On May 8, 2012, Alyssa Reit and Mark Hancock screened the Wave documentary film “Lesson Plan” at the United Nations, at a luncheon held by the UN Interagency Framework Team for Preventive Action, and hosted by the UNDP Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is “the UN’s global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life” while the Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery mission includes the support of “innovative approaches to crisis prevention, early warning and conflict resolution” and helping countries “transform from a state of fragility to greater resilience.”
